My Mishmash

I've got too many random things to blog about, so I've put them all together- my favorite-bullet style.

  • I've had the hiccups for the last 3 hours. They won't go away!

  • We've done a lot of work on the house in the past week. It feels so good to get it done, but everything costs money, and it is not a necessity. Everyone is so worried about jobs, ect. I feel like we should be saving, saving, saving. I always tell myself- after this is done we will be finished. But the list keeps growing.

  • I am really dis-liking digital tv. I'm sure all of you have cable and do not know what it is like. I have large rabbit ears up to the ceiling and I have to point them in certain directions to get a certain channel. What the hell? It is 2009! Where is the technology here people? I am really pissed because I can't get PBS which is all my kids watch. I'm not digging this QUBO shit with it's Billy Mays infomercials every 15 minutes.

  • Speaking of TV- I am done watching my beloved Jon and Kate plus 8 through Netflix. I've watched all 3 Seasons. So sad. I miss my Jon and Kate!

  • I've since moved on to a way different reality tv- Rock of Love. I can't believe that I'm even admitting this because this show is so TRASHY. But I can't stop watching it! I know-quite different from my Jon and Kate.

  • We have been going to Westwinds the last five Sundays. I have never been to church this much in my life. We really like it. When I say we- yes that means David goes as well. Jake has a friend from preschool in his class, and my old babysitter Rita takes care of Tyler in the nursery. I don't drift off during the sermon thinking about my to-do list and the music/band makes me want to play the drums or guitar. A couple of weeks ago they played Don Henly. This is my kind of church.

  • Speaking of wanting to play drums or guitar- we went over to our friends Corey and Keri's last weekend for a St. Paddy's get together and we played Rock Band. Secretly, I've always wanted to be good at the drums- I don't have a chance- it takes to much coordination.

  • Call me Elmyra from Tiny Toon Adventures- I love my Fuzzy. "I'm going to hug you and love you and lock you in a cage."

  • We got our "new to us furniture" and I love it. My living room feels a lot more calm without a large tv and large blue couch. I feel like I am at the beach beacuse my living room is creme and tan. Boring colors- but it matches my kitty. I call him my throw pillow for my couch.

  • I've got a question- if you got $100.00 given to you, and you had to spend it- what would you buy? I'm just curious- I haven't had anyone give me a hundred dollars, I just wonder and would love some answers- plus I love comments, and don't get many, so feel free to comment! Besides you, Sara, my loyal commenter. And you too, mom, when you figure it out.

  • Oh, I almost forgot- my mom is coming for a visit on Wednesday. I can't wait. I've got a list of fun things to do: lunch at Anna's, a trip to Ikea, the list goes on.

Davids Man Cave

It all started with the giant TV David had left over from his bachelor days. The thing weighed a ton, and it was abnormally thick. It had this cheesy stand he bought with it and since then he added speakers on each side for better sound. It took up half my living room. We've been dis-agreeing about the TV for a few months now. Yesterday he decided let me have my way and made a man cave in the basement. He loves it! I heard him down there playing Guitar Hero, and last night he watched a movie in his cave. Now he can play all his queer video games. I have nightmares of "Bravo, Tango Spotted."

Now, I just need to talk him into moving this into his man cave.

Tomorrow, I'm getting rid of my blue smurf couch, which I sold on Craigslist in a within a few hours.

By next week, I will have a whole new living room! No giant tv, no giant blue leather couches, and hopefully no giant deer head on my wall!

The Urban Toddler

On Thursday, David and I took the boys on a field trip to The Urban Toddler. I'm not sure where I found out about this place, probably on some random persons blog. But anyway, I wanted to check it out. I was excitied to go here because I would love to have a place like this in Jackson. It took us an hour to get there and although it was fun, it was $5 for each boy plus gas to get there. I so wish Jackson had more to offer for kids.
The favorite of the field trip was the fire-fighter costumes and the fire truck. Jake wore the outfit the entire time we were there. All 2 hours.

Mr. Ty Daddy found the baby and stroller and pushed the baby all around.

I loved this toy from Melissa and Doug. The fruits and veggies velcro together and then you can slice them with a wooden knife. The boys enjoyed it.

I would compare the Urban Toddler to the Kids n' Stuff in Albion, but a smaller scale and more toddler oriented. There were little "play stations" like a grocery store, quiet room with books and puzzles, fire truck with dress up, messy room for art, theater, and a station with fridge, sink, doll beds, ect. In the middle was the infant place space and a fish tank. Around the perimeter was a road to push strollers and carts. They also had story time with a snack.
Part of Urban Toddler is also a store with wonderful books, toys, maternity wear, strollers, car seats, ect. It was fun to walk around the store part as well. I couldn't leave without getting some cute Crocodile Creek place mats. I am so wanting to open one in Jackson! I just need a little bit of money.

It's Gap Friends and Family Time Again!

What was supposed to be a holiday job has now turned into I can't shop without my discount!! I am still at Gap! It's addicting. Good news for you- because it's a new spring friends and family-30% off gap, old navy, banana and on-line and outlet. If you want one email me your home address. I have to snail mail them, no more e-mail coupons. sadieabradley@ymail.com Happy shopping!

Speaking of shopping- I'm so tired of not only my wardrobe, but my kids wardrobe as well. Tyler is wearing Jake's hand-me-downs so it is all clothes I've seen before. Boring. Jake has about 10 striped shirts I got on clearance last year. I can't bring myself to buy new clothes because they don't need any more clothes. I am ready for spring so I don't have to see them wear the same clothes all winter. Don't even get me started on my wardrobe. Blah.
