Here is my life list:
1. Visit Bora Bora and stay in a hut on the water with a glass floor. This is my number one and has been for at least 10 years. It would be nice to get there before I'm wrinkly and my boobs are saggy- better hurry!
2. Be on the Price Is Right. Oh, and play Plinko. I love that game for some reason. I really wanted to be on the show when Bob was hosting, but that didn't happen.
3. See a hump back whale.
4. Visit the places Laura Ingalls lived and grew up. I love the Little House books!
5. Go scuba diving. Not really deep. Just around a coral reef or something.
What's on yours????

Bestest Weekend
On Friday, after Jake got out of school we took the boys sledding at Victory Hill in Albion. I had a pot roast in the crockpot and we stayed until almost 6:00pm. They had a lot of fun. Tyler wasn't even scared. I sat in the car and was a spectator. I brought my camera I was and was excitied to get some cute winter shots, but realized when we got there I had taken my SD card out. It was so nice to come home and have dinner ready and warm. I love my crockpot!
We spent all day Saturday picking up and cleaning. I've been sick with a stuffy nose, ect. and the house was a disaster. It is amazing how out of control it can get when you let your house duties go for a day or two. This is not part of the bestest weekend. On Saturday night we had our first annual game night at Corey and Keri's house. We've all been talking about doing a game night for at least a year. Ever since I saw The Break-Up. We have them planned for once a month, rotating houses. We all brought appetizers and had a great time. My friend Danielle and her husband Matt, David's sister Jamie and her fiancee, Davids friend Chad and wife Lindsay, Corey, Keri and David and I played Apples To Apples, Spoons, and Uno. Oh, and Battle of the Sexes, which the guys won. Spoons got a little crazy, but that by far was the most fun game.
We did our usual church on Sunday, and Tyler did the three's class all by himself! This was a milestone for him. We've been going to church for a year now, and he always cries. Then I get paged and have to go get him. He doesn't calm down. I put Jake in the three's class with him for a few weeks to get him used to going, and he was fine if Jake was there. Today was his first day without Jake. He cried and clung to my leg, but after I got him detached and ran out, he eventually stopped crying and stayed the whole class! We spent the rest of Sunday relaxing! We played a bit with the kids and didn't go anywhere. We had a light Sunday night dinner of grilled cheese with Velveeta cheese, fried sugar snap peas, strawberries w/whip cream and for dessert- cookie dough-just a few bites. Yum.

Arizona
- Here are the highlights- bullet style:
- Seeing a cactus for the first time.
- Playing Sequence- a lot. Having my sister beat me by 2 games is not a highlight.
- Drinking real lemonade from the neighbors lemon tree.
- Taking the boys to the Lego store.
- Jake swimming without floaties on.
- Tyler swimming with floaties on, and saying "I'm brave." He does not like not being able to touch, but he got brave and was swimming all over, even in the deep.
- Taking the boys to ride go karts, which they were able to drive by themseleves. Tyler was tall enough, but not brave enough for go karts.
- Having the whole family, even my dad, drive the "adult" go karts.
- Doing this all day:
- While the kids did this all day:
(it was heated at 88 degrees.)
- Eating out at a steakhouse, and for dessert the kids got to roast marshmallows at their own private fire outside.
- Getting a $3.25 cupcake from Sprinkles, a foo-foo bakery in Scottsdale. Yes, it was a normal size cupcake.
- Spending time with family. I really want to write "priceless" here. There I did.

What was I thinking?
I thought this trip would be different. We would be flying instead of driving-a lot quicker and easier. If you don't remember my last trip, it was a lot of puking and a lot of driving. Was I ever wrong! Here is the play by play:
3:30pm: Left our house
5:00pm: Got to my sisters house
6:00pm: Grabbed dinner and left for Grand Rapids aiport.
7:00pm: Got to the airport.
8:30pm: Plane was supposed to depart.
9:00pm: They announced there is a mechanical problem, and they are working on fixing it.
9:30pm: They start serving us free pop, not good sign that we are leaving soon.
10:00pm: The kids fall asleep on the floor.
11:00pm: They announce they are bringing in a different plane from Las Vegas. It will be here at 2:00am.
2:00am: They announce the plane is here, BUT the pilots have reached the 8 hour limit they can fly. This is the part that really ticks me off. The airline KNEW that the pilots would not be able to fly by the time they reached Grand Rapids, but they still made us wait 6 hours at the airport.
2:30am: We wait in a really long line down at the baggage claim, to get put on a list for a hotel room, with 4 tired kids. We have to get all our bags including 1 heavy car seat and 3 booster seats.
3:00am: More waiting while they find a hotel to fit all the passengers and taxi's to take us there.
3:30am: We lug all the luggage, car seats, ect. to the hotel, wait in another line to get checked in.
Go to sleep. Finally.
You would think by this point we would be offered free tickets to fly again, which I would have been thrilled with, considering we are going to Florida in April, but no. They gave us $50.00 towards another flight. Wow- that will get us to.....Ohio. Thanks Allegiant! (Please note the sarcasm).
I'm not going to bore you with the next day, let's just say it was alot of waiting in lines, and more waiting. We were scheduled to depart at 11:00, and left at 12:15 instead.

Good Reads
It's winter, and it's the perfect time to curl up with a good book. I am thrilled because the authors of my two favorite books have just released sequels!
Here are my favorites:
The Liar's Club by Mary Karr and the sequel is Lit: a memoir.
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls and the sequel is Half Broke Horses: a true life novel.
I'm not sure if the correct terminology is sequel, because Glass Castle was about the authors life, and Half Broke Horses is about the authors grandmothers life.
Mary Karr also has a book that comes before Lit and after Liars Club called Cherry, but I can't remember if I've read it or not.
I just finished reading My Sisters Keeper, which took me longer than most books to finish. Not quite a page turner for me and I hated the ending.
Some other favorites are The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns. Oh, and A Million Little Pieces by James Frey- I don't care if it was true or not- still a great book.
Note: all these books are not uplifting stories. For some reason, I am drawn to sad stories. I guess because it helps me realize my life is not all that bad, even on it's worse days.
